So I'm getting into the ICS courses again, and I have a question- when the course has parts .a .b .c and so on listed, as well as 120, 208, 230- which ones do I take?

For the 200, do I take just 200 or all the courses between 200 and 299? And the .a .b courses, do I take all parts or just a certain one?

Not sure how to figure all of this, so.. I tried search, and this seems like a relevant topic, therefor I post it here.

Read the course descriptions. For CAP I would recomend:

IS-7
IS-22
IS-100.b
IS-120.a
IS-200.b
IS-242
IS-244
IS-288
IS-700.a
IS-800.b
IS-802
IS-809

Thank you!

I've always seen "100, 200, 400, 700" but never anything specific, and obviously with these courses it's a little more in-depth than just the #00.

These are the required CAP courses for ES.  You could still take 100.a and 200.a but why not take the most up to date course?

The others are different classes for different resources/responders.  They do not satisfy the training requirements for CAP ES and  ARE NOT REQUIRED. Take as many as you would like, you can never get enough training especially free training! The 4 courses listed above are the ones you need, you do not have to complete the others.

The only ones that are required are 100 & 700.  The others are required depending on what qualification you are seeking.

Don't forget 300 and 400 based on quals that you want.  They are, IMHO, far more interesting and useful... particularly as you need to do them in a classroom and the interactive nature makes them more functional.

It's funny in my original post I was going to mention those two.  then I started to rephrase and it dropped out of my head thanks for adding them.  I agree they are the more interesting of the courses.
