Hi all,

I'm an educator and grad student right now so I was poking around educational discounted software and noticed something.  These guys: http://www.journeyed.com/ have CAP listed under their approved Air Force/DoD discount qualified purchasers.  Check them out if you want some killer prices on Microsoft and Adobe software (among others).

I was able to purchase MS Office Professional for $99. Saved over $350. But if you have access to any College Bookstore you can also get the same prices there.

I'm taking courses at Santa Fe College (FL) and their bookstore carries NO software. The acrosstown University of Florida doesn't honor a Santa Fe student ID for software purchase.

^ Because the school actually makes up the difference between what a student pays for the software and what the school bought it for.  Why do you feel entitled to purchase at a school that you do not attend?  Perhaps you should transfer......just saying   >:D >:D >:D

BillB

Well maybe it could be because Santa Fe honors at U of FL student ID. Or maybe because each school runs classes on the others campus, No that couldn't be it could it.

No- some of their products are basically regular pricing. But they make sure you "save" with every single purchase! ;D

I take weekend courses at UNF and MS Office Pro is on sale there at $99/ Or you can go to the Journey Ed site and get it at the same price in about a week (less if you pay for the express shipping). You will have to have send them a copy of your student or CAP ID.

I just looked at JourneyEd, and their selection of CAP-eligible products is severely limited. I didn't see any MS or Adobe products that CAP could get at a discount.

TechSoup is awesome. We purchased Office 2007 Professional for $16 per license and they shipped the media at no cost.

Meh. I would rather use a 3rd party for anti-virus such as AVG because of flexibility with the software and (generally) better protection.

Glad to see someone using TechSoup in CAP.  It is bar-none, the best non-profit solution out there for tech.

It boggles my mind at how much CAP is missing out on out there in non-profit land because we don't think like a non-profit.

They do beat Newegg pretty good, but not near as good as TechSoup.
