Is there going to be M-16 shooting at the WIWG Encampment? If so, If someone were to make it to the Expert range, even though I know they couldn't wear the ribbon, could they atleast take it home or something?

Eclipse

Eclipse....are are with MIWG?  I thought you were ILWG.

Now I ask.......have you really talked to the MIWG guys and see if they don't hand out some sort of award for top shooter of anyone who shoots "expert".  Have you even asked if they were going to have shooting there this year?

Granted, I made an assumption that the cadet was asking about the military expert award - no idea if they give something out to top shooter.

It's WIWG, according to the OP.

The post beneath this one is a lie.

To set the (MIWG) record straight, we don't do weapons qualification.  The last few years, we've been able to run our cadets through familiarization, using blank ammo only.  But that is strictly dependent on what excess or surplus blank ammo our host facility might have on hand.

Contact your Wing Cadet Programs Officer or (Preferably)the Encampment Commander and ask what is on the Encampment schedule.

Major Lord

Cadet Bhatti, just to be clear, are you referring to the NRA Expert Medal, or a military "expert" qualification. There is no ribbon for the NRA medal, and whether or not Cadet may wear the NRA medal has been a matter of some debate among the Chairborne Rangers of Captalk.....Whether or not its totally kosher, the practice of wearing NRA "Bling" on a Cadet Uniform is a longstanding one, and I see cadets all the time with various NRA medals. There is no justification for the award of the "expert" (military qualification) to a civilian.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."
