after completing my form 5 instrument, the cfi entered it in the FAA system. when i got home i had two emails, one saying i have the basic and one stating i have the advanced ratings. the odd thing is that when i go into the detail screens i see that the form 5 gave me the three flight entries for the basic part but did NOT give me the flight portion for the advanced portion???  am i missing something here or should it also give me the flight portion for the advanced side also???

Seems to me I ran into this problem too, and it wasn't resolved until I completed the ADM knowledge credit.  Note also that Advanced flight credit hinges upon the PTS standard applied for the checkride.  It might not be possible for a Private Pilot to receive credit for a checkride conducted to Commercial PTS standards.

Quote from: FAASafety.govA successfully completed CAPF 5 evaluation, inclusive of the instrument portion, to Commercial PTS Standards gives all three flight credits for both the WINGS and Advanced WINGS  Levels of the WINGS - Pilot Proficiency Program, and all knowledge credits except Aeronautical Decision Making and the Advanced Level required Knowledge credit.  On-line courses are available on FAASafety.gov for both knowledge credits.  Upon completing both on-line courses or any other appropriately accredited courses, the member will have achieved the Advanced Level of WINGS.

to restate:
there are 2 different CAPF5 choices on FAASafety.gov: one to Private PTS, the other to Commercial PTS with instrument. If you get credit for the Private version, you just have to complete the online Aeronautical Decision Making and you have the Basic level and the equivalent of a BFR. If you complete the Commercial, you get the same Basic credit, plus part of the Advanced. you'll still have to complete ADM and some knowledge courses to get the Advanced level.

In either case, be sure to print the Wings level completion certificate for your file. The 2nd page is a small version stating you completed a BFR. It should be cut out and attached in your logbook as proof of the BFR equivalent.

thank you for the information. i am instrument but not commercial so i think that is why i did not get the flight credit. i guess since i already had the ADM courses is the reason i had the email giving me the advanced portion. but it is still weird that i got it without the flight portion.
