Wow guys, talk a deep breath!  We know what's right!  He's just another mis-guided and lost cap soul we need to comfort and educate!  ;D

^ It is because that is what is drilled into attendees heads at these schools.  "This is the most high speed school in CAP, its like Ranger School.....blah blah blah".

I honestly think some attendees just want more bling to wear.  They are upset that some Wings wear patches on the shoulder (illegally) instead of on the pocket.  They equate patches on shoulders with military combat patches.

I'd like to state for the record that this mentality is no longer being drilled into people at NBB.  In 2003, the command staff (Activity Director, Commandant of Cadets, Chief of Staff, Chief TAC, Cadet Commander, Cadet Vice Commander) made the decision to replace the existing "Blue Beret Creed".

The old creed was a modified version of The Infantryman's Creed (you can find the original here:http://www.policelink.com/topics/16852-the-infantrymans-creed/posts).  We all agreed that the old creed was not at all accurate and simply contributed to elitest attitudes.  While the creed did not change that year (materials already printed and distributed at that point), we directed that it would be changed for the 2004 NBB.

Also for the record: In no way, shape or form is NBB a special forces of CAP.  It is a great activity that allows cadets to participate in all 3 missions of CAP, and get a great behind the scenes look at one of the most spectacular airshows in the world.
