Does anyone have a digital version of the Civil Engineering academy patch?
Yep, and just got back today.
A roomful of engineers and no one know hows to use Photoshop...
Ha!
I'm not the course director, I don't have the SVG version. Sorry 'bout it... :P

Why would a
Civil Engineer need to know how to use Photo Shop?

Engineering, on any level, is about design, proper use of tools, and in many cases, aesthetics.
That insignia violates just about every rule.

It's just a slightly modified version of the Air Force Red Horse patch.
That doesn't make it "right" - the scroll is incorrect (mixed case and not shaped correctly), there are
graphic elements >in< the scroll, and as you say, the design look lifted from some other image,
and is the pixelation will give any graphic person OCD.

Well then why don't you
fix for them? I'm sure they would appricate it.

As someone with a master's in CE, I would not expect anyone at a CE academy to know how to use Photoshop. AutoCAD, yes; Photoshop, no.

Fair enough - how about
someone, between whoever used MS Paint to put it together, and whomever approved it, assuming it was ever approved,
saying "good first draft, try again".
Just a couple of questions.
What do civil engineers do in CAP? I wasn't aware we had any and am unsure what mission they serve in CAP.
What uniform would this glorious patch be authorized to be worn on?
It's an NCSA for career exploration like a few others - not mission focused.
It can be worn where other NCSA patches are worn.

Please, if you don't know who or what they are, don't insult them.
Thank you Jersey Cadet. Did you enjoy your time at Silver Flag?
PHall,
Of course I do know who - not what - they are and what they have done. Much more than you do. Calling them "what" is a much worse insult than what I said. They were not / are not a "thing" to call them so.

I lived with my fair share of good-natured ribbing when I was a cook in the Air Force. (Hash slinger, burger flipper, Death From Within!)

...Cow killer, cow killer, feed me, please!
I could understand calling a chef a "Hash Slinger," "Burger Flipper," and even "Death From Within." ;D
I cannot understand why anyone would call a chef "Cow Killer." Chefs do not kill cows! :P

I doubt that, but then I had 31-1/2 years to study them too. Flown a lot of them to a lot of places too.
Ok,
I will accept that you know them better than I do. I sincerely hope that no harm came during any of your missions...

And I can't understand why anyone would call a military cook a chef.
Ok David-
Modifying my question.
I still cannot understand why military cooks are called "cow killers." The cow is already dead when it reaches them!
I bet, David, that you still cannot answer it! ;D

Me neither... though some military cooks later on in their careers will wind up going to a culinary school like Culinary Institute of America. Doesn't make them chefs, though.

Maybe once upon a time in the old west the cook had the additional duty. Or maybe it is just a funny name someone created to poke fun at the cooks who seemed to try to kill the cow all over again by cooking the steaks with high heat for an overly prolonged period of time until all of their life's juices were long gone. Heck, I don't know.

They must have a taste-removing machine in the
Pacific Dining Room Captain Louis A. Zamperini Dining Facility in Kwajalein... in the three years I was there I could hardly taste anything their 'chefs' skilfully prepared. (Wha'kine pakalolo dey smokin', brah?) When I got back to the real world I had to undergo 'taste bud therapy' so I could enjoy fresh food again! ;D
