When a squadron has a meeting place at a near by AFB is it okay to eat at the Dining Facility prior to or after the meeting?

Your thoughts?

Not without a MSA from your State Director.

Eeyore

We only use the dinning facility on base if we have an MSA from the State Director giving us approval to do so.

So, I would say no, not without approval as CAP members are not entitled to use the facility.

*Looks like I was beat to the punch.

Dining, folks.

One 'n', just one.

Your sig says you're an ARNG officer.  I would assume that would give you more 'clearance' to eat at a military dining facility (DFAC?) than the non-existant CAP privelige.

DFAC (the preferred term these days), mess hall, chow hall, slop trough, choke and puke... :)

You could join the consolidated open mess and then eat there.

less chance of misspelling "Dinning" if I had just called it a DFAC :)

This was just a hypothetical, no CAP members were seen, heard or located near any such facility. Just wanted to talk about something new after reading 24 pages of posts about the TPU.

If the dining room is open, which it probably isn't.

The clubs are an endangered species these days.

^ Checking out the AF Services/ Clubs website, it appears most bases have consolidated mess facilities or separate NCO and Officer Clubs.  Even most Reserve Stations have a club.

Link  >  http://www.afclubs.net/default.htm  YOU can check out locations and dues to join.  Everywhere I have been CAP Senior Members were always welcome to join the club!

Thanks for the information.

The CyBorg is destroyed

When I have been on AFB's for CAP training activities, which are of course cleared with the base commander, we were allowed to eat in the dining facility.  It wasn't for free, but we got reduced rates, and I'm not complaining about $8.00 for a very good shrimp dinner.

A little expensive, but that could have been a special meal price; most times I've eaten at a AF chow hall, I've rarely paid more than $4 for chow - most chow halls use ALACS (A La Carte System) in which every item on your plate is charged. (Kwajatraz meal prices are high, but since I am a meal card holder I'm not charged for it.)

When eating in an AF DFAC CAP members should not be charged the surcharge, that's assuming you have a valid MSA.
