If the deceased was a member of CAP than I would, otherwise I wouldwear  regular Go to church clothing.

If you plan to represent CAP at the funeral, then wear it.  I was very greatful to the members in uniform who attended my wife's funeral.

The civilian is Grandma. We have three grandsons, One is in the Military, One Is in the FD and the other is In the Police Department. All three want to wear their class A.

Wear them...I don't care why...wear them...

wear them, I am sure Grandma would be proud.

From your post it doesnt appear that you are going to wear a uniform?  I would say if the funeral doesnt have a connection to the uniform, your doing more to attract attention to yourself vs just being there for the funeral.  However, another way is to look at it is she had 3 solid grandkids and a son who are all successful could be a tribute to grandmas awesomeness.  Its all your own take on the matter I guess.

All I'm trying to find out is whether it is appropraiate to wear class A to a civilian funeral. I am in no way ttrying to attract attention to myself. I'ts just a question not judgment.

I think you will find that there are some here who will say wear a CAP uniform just about anytime you want while others say that the event must have some legitimate relationship to CAP.  If you're at all unsure, ask your squadron commander and do what they say.  Safest bet.

A purist  would say....no.  Your grandmother does not have any connection with CAP.  However, when my grandmother died I was a Pallbearer and I wore my USAF uniform because she was very proud of my service.....and it was the nicest clothes that I owned.

The gentleman is NOT asking about a CAP uniform, but rather the formal uniforms of the military, fire and police departments.

I would ask your squadron commander and do what they say.   Remember you will representing the Civil Air Patrol.
