It's not a question of how they grip it, it's a simple question of weight ratios!  A 2 ton aircraft could not carry a 15 ton bomb.   In order to maintain air-speed velocity...   ;)

Listen. In order to maintain air-speed velocity, a Cessna needs to turn its prop forty-three times every second, right?

I suppose it could be carried by an Australian aircraft, but certainly not an American one, which was my point.
