As of 7 August, eServices confirms that my former CAP grade of Lieutenant Colonel has been reinstated.  So I have adjusted my signature accordingly.

Sure feels good to wear the oak leaves again!

I was told that the hangup was at Wing HQ; someone up there -- it wasn't specified to me just who -- didn't remember me from my earlier membership and wanted to talk with a staff guy who did remember me before signing off on the form.  Sheesh.  Once that happened (the weekend before), it shot through Region HQ like a bullet.

I know reinstatement is not automatic nor guaranteed, but I don't think I'd have been too happy having to come back as a captain or major (which is what I understand was being considered).  I know the pay is the same, but really ...

Anyway, I'm back ... I'm in my correct grade ... and I've already had one PAO article posted on CAP News Online!

Yay me!!

Glad to hear that everything worked out for you. Welcome back!

Seems like there is nothing wrong with making absolutely sure on something like this before approving the paperwork.

Congrats Colonel Jack!

Now you can once again help shape the future of our organization.

What will you be doing in CAP now??

Also, great job on the weight loss.  That is an inspiration to everyone here.

I couldn't agree more.  Though validation of most of my training is already online ... Level II, Loening, Garber, Wilson, etc. ... I don't have a problem at all with wanting to make sure about the deal.

I'll be PAO and AEO of the local unit ... the one I used to command back in the day.  I've already had one item posted online in the news, and have another in the pipeline to National.  And I have to re-earn my Crossfield ribbon by working back to the top of the AEO food chain, even though I can still wear the thing ... I want to be right.  That's why I'm re-acquiring the training to bring my observer rating up to date -- I can wear the wings, but I want to be able to use 'em, too.

Thank you, my friend, for your kind words.  I am maintaining the ideal weight for my height, age, and bone structure, and it's easier than I ever thought it would be.  All I have to do is look at a picture of myself in uniform and that's incentive enough to keep the weight off.
