Hello everyone,

It's down to my last week as a civilian. I head off for USCG basic training next Tuesday. I got a pretty sweet enlistment package (part of it thanks to CAP).

I joined the Reserves, and it is likely I will be assigned to a PSU.

The plan after boot camp is  to head off to Machinery Technician A-school. It is here that my  over 7 year cadet career will end because I am turning 21. I do plan on becoming a SM and giving back to the program.

Wish me luck and give any pointers you may have

Give me your graduation date and I'll try to get some CAPers in the area to come out and support you.  We have a unit in Cape May and the commander is prior Coast Guard.

Good luck!

Congrats.  Learn everything you can and never turn down training no matter how silly.  In law enforcement and security, the knowledge is in the details.

Thanks everyone.

Hopefully, I'm having my brother (C/Capt and E-4 in the CG) present my certificate. I'm still not sure of my expected graduation date incase I get reverted or something. I'm going to find out Thursday when I finalize my enlistment.

Good luck!  Enjoy the experience!

If everything goes right, graduation is 07 AUG 09.
