While looking for something else I found out that the Army's Institute of Heraldry keeps track of symbols for JROTC units: http://www.tioh.hqda.pentagon.mil/JROTC/JROTC.htm

Granted, there are some differences between the Army's relationship with JROTC units and the AF's relationship with us, but I think that since unit patches are placed on AF uniforms they could demand approval authority over all of them.  However, I strongly suspect that they aren't interested in doing so.

By the way, having the Army in charge of the JROTC patches hasn't seemed to result in them all being "professional" looking.  A quick glance showed several cartoonish patches as bad as some of CAP's.

That's because it's ridiculous to decide that a patch is 'professional' or not. What you think is professional I might think is completely daft.

Are these 'professional?'

Joe, you might want to use TinyURL to make them easier to use on here. Some people's browsers break the links.
