The only source I am aware of was the Bookstore and now Vanguard.  At last check all they had left was some very odd sizes (i.e. under 8 and over 14), and it appears their new site no longer even features those.

You might try calling them on Friday to see if they have any left.

Short of that, you're stuck making up a custom one for yourself or group.

Here's one of many examples:  http://www.ringcompany.com/

Here's what 5 minutes with the mouse got me:

This one would cost $~400 as a 1-off in "brilliantine", which is basically shiny pot metal and equivalent to the ones Vanguard still had left.

If I was actually serious about this I'd definitely do custom side moled at $150 each side.

A lot of retail stores like K-Mart have services to make 1-off class style rings right at the jewelry counter, too, which I have never understood because every school I am aware of has their own vendor.

Last I saw VG doesn't have them any more.  I started a thread on this back in July.

Vanguard had two styles: the $69 off-the-rack ones, and the real gold ones from Jostens, which were special order.

You might try calling Jostens, but they are kind of skittish on proprietary designs, but it nevet hurts to ask.

Best I could figure, K-mart was for the kids who missed the deadline to get one from the school vendor. Or maybe for those who are homeschooled? It would look wierd though. "Home - Class of 19XX" (but at least you'd be valedictorian - hopefully).

FYI - There's a CAP ring on ebay right now. I remember seeing it last night while I was searching along the items listed. I think it's a size 7 and the picture is really blurry, but I thought I'd pass it along.

A hack job, but still better than that eBay photo.

Much better than the ebay picture. I've tried photographing small things (such as jewelry or coins) for eBay with poor luck like the guy selling the ring on ebay. I guess there's a few tricks to the trade that I'm not aware of.

Most cameras can focus down to a certain distance, one which is too far to show the detail on a small object like this.

For that you use the "macro" or "close up" setting on the camera - that changes the focal point of the lenses and then you can only takes pics of things very close.

Now I'm curious. I guess I'll have to figure out where the owner's manual for my camera is. I'm one of those "Point and shoot" kind of people.  >:D

On a lot of cameras it looks like a small flower, either as a separate button or menu choice.

Where on Vangaurd are you finding the rings?  I've looked and can't find them any more.
