This is relying on 20+ years of failing memory, but this is how the Air Farce trains their cooks.

After basic, eight weeks or so of tech school at Lackland AFB. (My tech school was at the now-closed Lowry AFB in Denver.)

Most of your AF cooks either serve overseas and in a few places stateside where they haven't - yet - contracted out food service to silly-vilians. One might even do time with a RED HORSE unit or be a missile site chef.

I'm doing MP during my first enlistment (reserves). Then my reclass is going to be Officer in Infantry.

This is just a very under informed kid tossing stuff out.   The only way for him to believe he will be reclassified to Infantry Officer at the end of his first enlistement is to be entering a commissioning program now.   Could be a Reserve enlistment while attending ROTC.  Still, the last time I looked, scoring a Commission in Infantry was very competitive.   I was not aware the Army would put it into a contract for newbies.
