Does anyone know how CAP chaplains are promoted?  I read through CAPR 265 on the Chaplain Service and it's kind of unclear to me.

I have completed exams for CAPP 221 & CAPP 221-A and those have been recorded on CAPWATCH online and my specialty rating is now MASTER under Chaplain.

The Chaplain promotion rules are different from the other rules. Your best bet is to contact your wing chaplain for clarifiaction - he has to recommend Chaplain promotions to the wing commander.

If you have a D.Min. I think you are eligible for Major after 6 or 12 months. What denomination are you with? I'm with the PCUSA.

Here's a memo dated 20 June from LMM on the new/updated promotion policy for the CAP Chaplain Service:
http://level2.cap.gov/documents/Chaplain_Appointment_Promotion_Policy.pdf

So, it's back to the old policy of appointing chaplains to Captain with a seminary degree and 1LT on waiver.  And, it's a year before being promoted to Major if holding the doctorate.

I'm a priest with the Charismatic Episcopal Church USA (http://www.iccec.org).  My wife works for the Heartland Presbytery in Kansas City MO.  She is the Resource Director for Christian Education.  Small world!
