I am considering buying premade ribbon and medal racks. What companies are suggested? I am interested in being able to have what I have purchased updated. The racks would need to include both USAF and CAP items.

Ultrathins are really the only game in town for that.  Not cheap, but they look good,
will update for you, and can include CAP (though sometimes you have to send them
the ribbons.

Always look good and take a lot weight off the shirt if you have a large rack of ribbons.

Can confirm, Ultrathin is the way to go (get the magnet set... seriously).

How would the magnet set work on the service coat?

How would the magnet set work on the service coat?

I haven't tried it, but it's not recommended:

Magnetic Ribbons

UltraThin magnetics allow you to attach ribbons to your shirt without poking holes. Put them on or take them off as many times as you wish: you'll find no telltale holes left in the shirt. Magnetics are not for use on the service dress coat due to the increased fabric thickness nor with medal set. To order, check the box for magnetic fastener and add $4.00 to the "Additional Services" block on the order form

I recently acquired UltraThin magnetics for ribbons as well as name tag for my aviator shirt. They look and work great!
