After 8 years out. I lost all my encampments, cac, and all my qualifications. I started from scratch. I was able to get credit for my Mitchell and that was it. . Like some colleagues said you can get your 2nd Lt after you complete your level 1.
Send everything you have to NHQ and see what they will accredit you for. The key for your accreditation is documentation. Everybody on this forum has some experience in the CAP. But the best information come from the manuals. Read the manuals and make yourself very familiar with them.

Welcome back!

There's no time limit on getting credit for past accomplishments.
8 Years is a pretty short delta for this kind of thing - you couldn't get a Mitchell without the encampment, so that should be a slam-dunk.  Odds are the wing, or whomever was the CC,
still has the rosters and form 20.

Quals would lapse, but award of the badges is permanent, so assuming you can prove it, another easy fix, though neither is an NHQ issue, both have to be handled
by you unit CC or wing.

For those scoring at home, the lesson should be that you should get a copy of the approval document for anything you
really care about maintaining in CAP.

Activities will have Form 11s, completion certificates, form 20s, or similar.

Most decorations will have a Form 120 with an attached narrative, specialty quals should have a signed checklist,
and most badges have either an accompanying SQTR, similar. Unit Citations should have a 120 and a list of recipients.

When I have done decs in the past, I always attached a copy of the 120 to the back of the frame, or made sure the
member got an electronic copy.

Sometimes well-intentioned CCs present things to people without following procedure, which leads to issues later.

If someone hands you something shiny, or a jelly bean, make sure you get the paper.   If you don't have that now,
ask to see your personnel file and make copies of everything.  It's not a secret and should be made available upon request.

Everyone should keep their CAP "I am awesome" folder in a safe spot. Really one day you will have grandchildren and you will want to come back in to CAP to impress them.

Grandpas need their "bling bling" too.  8)

I'm gonna decorate my bib with my master GT badge, observer wings, and ribbon rack. THEN, I'm gonna have my walker painted in woodland.
