We were told to expect the final version around the end of May at our wing conference last weekend, for what it's worth. With all the information that National received regarding feedback, I'm hoping that will be enough. I know a lot of people on CapTalk were very thorough!

Be nice.  As much as I am not a fan of the polo a pair of cargo pants would me much more comfortable.

You know you can wear cargo pants with the polo right now, right?  There's nothing in the current 39-1 which prohibits it.

The pants required to be worn with the golf shirt are:

"Commercial slacks/trousers in medium gray color, full cut, straight hanging,
with or without pleats, with or without cuffs. Cotton/twill weave trousers are
authorized (no jeans)."

I don't see how you can make cargo pants fit that description.

There's nothing in the Air Force AFI's or 39-1 that prohibit coon skin caps either but I seriously doubt we can wear them.

Sure there is, and it's in the first paragraph:

Quote from: CAPM 39-1, 1-1
COMPLIANCE WITH THIS PUBLICATION IS MANDATORY. Any variation from this publication is not authorized.
Items not listed in this publication are not authorized for wear.

The problem -- as with the wear of cargo pants and leaving BDU caps on the table -- is that very few actually READ 39-1, understand it, and comply with it.

Personally, I prefer to wear business casual trousers (e.g Dockers) with the CAP polo shirt. That said, cargo pants are a type of trousers and many members wear them with the CAP polo shirt. Because of lack of specific mention on the current regulation and many interpreting that as a prohibition, the draft for the new CAPM 39-1 specifically added the word "cargo" to avoid any confusion.

What if those cargo pants were made of Cotton/twill weave, medium gray color, Full cut and straight hanging?

I think that they could totally meet the definition.

Hey look, medium gray, full cut, straight hanging, without pleats, without cuffs, cotton/twill trousers.

That said, I wear tac pants.

Concur; clearly cargo pants are good to go. . .meets the letter of the law. If they didn 't want 'em, they could have drawn the verbiage tighter.

Whose tac pants do you like best!
