Are these shoes I have within the Blues regs?

These are the only dress shoes I have, and don't know of any relatively cheap Oxford ones, but in 39-1 it says they can be patent leather so? These are Chaps brand btw if that matters:

Thanks

As long as you can put some Kiwi on 'em they look right. Capped toe is allowed per 39-1.

Those do not look like any variety of patent leather I've ever seen.

But, yes, they are suitable for uniform wear.

Sorry, I didn't realize patent leather was glossy until I just looked it up.. :/ guess I'll try to find some to buy.

Patent leather is NOT a good idea. They are expensive, and designed for formal wear. They are not sturdy, and the surface is easily damaged. Get a regular pair of smooth leather shoes, shine them up a bit, and you'll have some comfortable, long-lasting footwear.

BITD, patent leather was restricted in our unit to cadet officers and SMs. Us cadets and NCOs had to shine shine shine. And in AFROTC you couldn't wear patent leathers til after field training.
Still a major after all these years.

Are you speaking of real patent leather or what is commonly called Corfam? They really are different, both physically, and financially. The former is much more expensive than the latter. I consider neither suitable for general wear, based on long time experience wearing a uniform of one sort or another. In this case, being functional overcomes being pretty.

They may be allowed, but don't look good with an Air Force uniform. In my 17 years in the Air Force, I've never seen someone wear this style of shoes with their Blues.

They look fine.  Anyone who more than glances at you shoes needs to re-rack their priorities.

I'm sorry, but anything that's different is bound to stand out. These shoes, while authorized by CAP, are not military style shoes. No one in the Air Force would wear them. That said, if they're authorized, then they're authorized. I've seen so many crazy things with uniforms in CAP that I wouldn't waste too much energy on shoes.

You can walk into a Walmart any day of the week and get perfectly acceptable shoes for $20 30.

I also agree that anything weird will stand out, defeating the idea of "uniform".

Corfams are a bad idea for cadets, they are expensive, and ruined if you sneeze wrong, not to mention the issue of growing feet.

Here's an inexpensive source:
Quatermaster Uniforms

Wow, I had no idea you could get them that cheap - same as the Walmart price.
Nothing wrong with those, other then the care issue and then you can't really wear them for anything else.

Here's some under $20 that would be perfectly acceptable:

Even money says these won't last six months being worn by a cadet.

Nor will the shiny ones just above this post.

Anyone remember when shoes were part of the FCU? And then you had to request it via a bubble sheet and it was mailed in.

Please don't wear those those with the USAF style uniform.  Those shoes would not be worn by anyone in any branch the military with a class A or B uniform.  The service uniform shoe should have a smooth plain toe without the line going across it.  No the shoes don't have to be corfam or patent leather, that is your choice.  A good pair polished pair of leather shoes works just fine.
