observation on position filtering routines

i had this mission several years ago, and wanted to share the positions passed on by afrcc. the red position x's cover a duration of almost a day and a half. during that time, the filtered position advanced toward the actual position only 20 of the total 25 miles.
if i had a filtering algorithm that gave me results like that, i would think that it was broken.
just a thought.
