Hello All,

Quick question: I'm working on my SDA for Achievement 11 (PAO), and here's what it says in CAPP 52-14 for the performance requirements:

SDA Report
1) Interview a local journalist (any media) or a corporate communications specialist to learn how CAP public affairs officers can avoid common pitfalls when writing press releases.

Additionally, complete one of the following:
2a) Prepare a short (150-300 word) news release suitable for publication in your local newspaper. In the news release, report on a cadet activity or awards presentation. If possible, include an engaging photo.

2b) Develop a website aimed at reaching community leaders and parents that explains why your squadron's Cadet Program is worthy of support.

Here's my question: How do you format the performance requirements on the physical SDA when there are 'one-of-the-following'-type requirements? Do you type in both options, or only the one you've fulfilled? Here's what I have so far:

3.    Performance Requirements for this SDA

A.    Interview a local journalist (any media) or a corporate communications specialist to learn how CAP public affairs officers can avoid common pitfalls when writing press releases.

Completed on:

Additionally, Complete one of the following:

B1.    Prepare a short (150-300 word) news release suitable for publication in your local newspaper. In the news release, report on a cadet activity or awards presentation. If possible, include an engaging photo.

B2.    Develop a website aimed at reaching community leaders and parents that explains why your squadron's Cadet Program is worthy of support.

Let me know what you think. Any input is appreciated.

What I do is have the cadet actually put the results of their interview here, along with the date and name of the person they interviewed.  List the questions asked, and the notes taken, or summary of the answers the person gave.  Sometimes in this section the cadet will write *See attachment 1, and then add the interview notes as a separate sheet.

SO yeah, you only really need to include the one that you did.
You only have to do one or the other.

If you write a news release, again i'd have you put it right here in the SDA under B1, or else *See Attachment 2, and attach the press release you wrote, as a separate sheet on the end of the SDA

OR if you did a website, I would be looking for the URL to be put here,  http://www.mysquadroncadetprogramrocks.com or whatever

***Since you are up for achievement 11 right now, also it should be in the back of your mind, that you need to have completed the staff service requirement section from achievement 9, 10, OR 11 (one of the three only) before you can earn your Earhart.  So if you haven't done that yet, you should be taking a look at it real soon.

GTCommando,

Your question is best directed towards YOUR Cadet Programs Officer.

While we could all offer you good advice on how to format your SDA......bottom line....it is YOUR CP Officer who is going to accept it or kick it back.

Don't waste your time asking us.

I would only type in the option you chose. Writing out the option you skipped, then informing me that you skipped it doesn't really give me any useful information and just clutters the report unnecessarily.
