2 of us are having a real difficult time getting past the online test for Comms Senior rating as the test doesn't reflect current regulations.  The highest score to date is 74%.  Suggestions on how or what to do to get the "correct" answers, vis-a-vis the test, would be helpful!

Seriously? You're just gonna compromise the test right here on the internet?

Get an older CAPM and study it -- write down the differences that you find between the old and new, figure out why the changes and get a more broad understanding.

The test isn't just to see if you can find the answers, it's also to see if you are competent without a manual in your hands.

That has got to be the lamest excuse for not updating a test.

Senior Comm test was much easier for me than the Technician. I got it easily on the second attempt.

This is like the ECI AFIADL AU 4/6 course required for ES officers. It is based on outdated regulations. So we have cases where to pass the test you need to learn incorrect material.  :o :o

If that's not a reason to issue a ICL, I don't know what is.

Eclipse

The ES test has been waived pending the new release of an updated test, the same should be done for Comms.

You know......I was just looking at CAPP 214.....it is impossible to get a Technican rateing.

Quotee. Completion of CAP Form 119.
f. Completion of CAP Form 43.

Neither of those forms (tests) exist.

The 119 was the old ROA test right?  The form 43 was the technician test which is now available on the website.  So I would imagine that if you have your ACUT and pass the technician test on the website that you have done those two line items.  Just a strectch there though.....

If you think that this is bad, back in 1972 they were still sending out Curry packets with a book that included the phrase "When men land on the Moon, sometime before the end of this decade . . ."

Now that is funny.

What would have been worse is if they had sent that out in 1974.

You mean sorta like how the Orion program is referenced now?

The moral is.. they shouldn't be writing books about stuff that's coming up. It could change.

No, what was worse is that the Curry written test had been updated, and National wouldn't send out replacement Curry packets.  A bunch of cadets in the area all waited around for a couple of months, until someone got an updated packet that they could study.

This just came out...
QuoteDCs,

As of this evening, the Senior Communicator's Test has been updated on the CAP testing server, available through eServices.

In this revision of the test, we have replaced 13 of the 50 questions and several more questions have been revised, such as changing one or more of the multiple choice answers. We also checked and updated the references which are provided for incorrectly answered questions.

Andy Feldman and Chuck Bishop led the project to revise this test.

Here is the current list of study documents needed for this test:

   CAPR 100-1
   CAPR 100-3
   Appropriate sections of CAPR 60-3
   General antenna theory
HF/ALE Implementation Plan dated 24 Jan 11 (on the NTC website accessible via eServices)

The work group will move on to review the Master test next.
