The only thing that beats the 696 is the G1000.  Everything I find on the 696 is accurate.  I do a lot of in flight planning.  I can get all the information I need off of the 696.  Everything.  The only thing I wish it could do would be to file a flight plan in flight!

The only thing I want it to do is show me streets so I can use it for reference when I am doing surveillance flights.

I've been flying with a G300 recently, which is based off the 696.  The thing's been a fancy tool, but probably only cause some of the new trial stuff is still there.  Having it installed to the airplane means I'd have to get a SD card for any updates or software but it does a lot of the advanced things needed already.  Haven't used a Jepp feature for approaches but the included NACO plates with lateral guidance on the plate has been real cool.
