Took it this past weekend. It was basically the lite beer version of ICS 300... The first 5 units. This one was heavily Coast Guardized in application compared to the 100, 200, 700 and 800 I took through FEMA. It was also geared more toward someone who is going to be on scene pretty much when something goes down i.e. already out on the water or at the radio when a call comes in... Versus how CAP usually operates.
Liked how we used a couple of the forms as part of the course. ICS 211-CG to sign in and there was an ICS 233-CG posted for any unresolved issues at the end of the course. Didn't get to keep the 2" thick CG IMH (COMDTPUB P3120.17A) though.
Good work, Mike!
It's good to know others are, for lack of better terms?, keeping an open mind on how the real world operates.
Doesn't hurt CAPers to take this "stuff." It is pretty good info to see things operate and quite possibly how CAP MAY BE involved with others on their turf.
Got back from ICS 300 /400 Train the Trainer last week at Emmittsburg, MD home of the famous FEMA EMI
Again...Good work , MIKE!
Not to side track, but I'm at EMI right now :)
OK not to sidetrack further...
What course are u taking there, ISU?
I'm in the MEPP (Master Exercise Practitioner)
isu
GREAT!! I have heard through our EMA /SEOC.... one of our State Training Officers went through it says its a great course
Is that a 1 week long or staggered residency over a one year period?
If you could let me know how its going thru the PM route or even here
The class is great!!! if you use HSEEP and you need to know a lot about exercises this is a great program. MEPP consists of three different courses. E132 is one week long dedicated to discussion based exercises. E133 is also a week long, and it takes place two months after E132. E136 culminates the program, and it takes place 6 months later.
