Title: Does the Military have an "E-Services"??
Post by: Smoothice on January 07, 2010, 07:21:05 PM
So, I am curious....

As a CAP member, I spend time on E-Services. Does the military have a similar set-up for soldiers? I remember as a cadet almost 20 years ago, there was no such thing.

Yes.  AF portal is very similar to Eservices in function.  Most everything we do is web based now.  Leave is accomplished by "leaveweb".  Evaluations and awards are done through VPC-GR for reservists. I think AD AF's system is similar. Training is doen through AFAIDL or learningweb. Promotions are similar (although there is a little more "paperwork" involved).

You can view personnel records, awards/decs, deployment history, and even pay statements through the portals.  Pretty snazzy if you have easy access.  Pretty sucky if you're deployed to a remote FOB on a tactical network.
