Title: Getting Level 2 posted.
Post by: davidsinn on January 03, 2010, 08:35:38 PM
I somehow managed to pass the ECI13. I have the post card. I've been told that it can take up to a month to post to eServices. If I scan and email  the postcard to DP/NHQ will it get my pass posted quicker? I hit my TIG for Capt. back in Sept. and would like to put the new bars on.  ;D

I've heard that sending the card can speed up the posting.

Bear in mind that the Level II will take a From 274 passed through wing and NHQ before you'll be 3-flags for captain.

They weren't real excited about the post card when I did mine.  They asked specifically for the certificate.

It will speed up the time to getting CAPSOC posted, not to getting level II posted.

How about Form 24, instead?

Write up a CAPF 24, attach a scan of the post card, pop the 24 up the chain.  Once level 2 posts, have your personnel officer go into eServices > Membership > Promotions and start the process.

The CAP form 24 (The 27 is for organizational actions)  goes directly from the unit to National, No requirement to go through Wing HQ.

Level 3 go to wing.  You better recheck the back of the CAPF 24.

Level 2 are local approval.

OK. I need to have an F24 cut, attach the postcard and send that up. Wait for Lvl 2 to post and then have my promotion submitted via eServices.

Did I miss anything?

If you are a 1st Lt, a Form 2 needs to get processed up the chain. Direct eServices promotions only work for promotion to 2nd Lt and 1st Lt.

Not true. eServices can be used for duty performance promotions through Lt Col. They will just have to be approved at the approriate levels.

Actually, any duty performance promotion can be initiated in Eservices. The system will automatically route the approval notice to the appropriate commanders. Each then logs in and approves (or not) the promotion. For any other type, you have to use the CAPF 2.

OK, I'm not directly involved in that any more, so I'll take your word for it.  8)

Depends on the Region - some Wings require paper for Major, and some Regions require it for Lt. Col.
