Honor Guard?  Well, if you do some looking you'll learn that the Old Guard of the Army wears an "HONOR GUARD" tab on their uniform.  The movie Gardens of Stone is about the Old Guard and there are lots of "honor guard" types of stuff in the movie.

What does the movie Taking Chance have to do with this?  They move a casket a few feet from airplane to airplane.

I gotta just say, that's an exceptionally rude post.

How many 'Honor Guard Movies' do you think are really out there? You've gotten replies listing movies, and you're reaction is "I said honor guard not drill?' Maybe 'Thanks for the replies guys, but I'm more looking for scenes of funerals and what not."

Also, several of the people who posted here were on military honor guards, and I think that they're defination of that they used to do is a little more accurate then your notion.

Military funerals?  "Garden of Stone" is an unofficial name for Arlington National Cemetery.  That movie is pretty much about an "Honor Guard" that performs MILITARY FUNERALS.

I personally performed about 200 formal military funerals; I'd say I know what I'm talking about.  I've folded lots of flags over the casket of many service members, fired vollies as part of a gun salute and marched miles and miles as am escort to fallen veterans being carried by The Old Guard Caisson Platoon.

Are you aware that Honor Guards do more than military funerals?  They also perform Colors Elements and Drill Team exhibitions.  The Air Force in addition to these endeavors includes a drama element to encompass DDR and public awareness.

What is the purpose of your broad and general question?  Are you interested in just watching or participating?  If participating, research the Honor Guard Academy and CAPP 52-8.  Give us all a bit more info so you will not be exasperated with general responses that have all been correct for what you requested.

movie's
movies

Which one is a correct plural? (Drives me nuts). [/rant]

Now back to your regularly scheduled movie review.

Grammar Cop to the rescue!

movie,s = nonsense; totally incorrect in every way possible

movie's = possessive; belonging to the movie

movies = plural; more than one movie

Now let's (contraction of let us) look at pronoun possessives and plurals. They're (contraction of they're) a bit different. The possessives do not have apostrophes.

Most are easy:

singular  plural  singular possessive  plural possessive
I  us  my  our
you  you  your  your
him  them  his  their
her  them  hers  their
it  them  its  their

Note - NO apostrophes in the table at all.

Moving right along with other common confusion items:

it's = contraction of it is; most common single mistake in the English language today confusing its and it's

there = not here; not to be confused with their and they're, explained above

you're = contraction of you are

were = past tense; I was, you were

where = location

we're = contraction of we are

whose = who does it belong to

who's = contraction of who is

and last, but not least:
would of - should be would have; the contraction of which is would've

Clear as mud? It's been a pleasure.
