Title: Glider O rides
Post by: flyguy06 on December 27, 2009, 02:42:20 AM
Does CAP have an agreement with the SSA to conduct Glider O rides?

Not that I have ever heard - any rides we can put together with local clubs are generally done via local relationships and
outside the normal O-Ride program.

Generally for glider rides to be reimbursed they should be our gliders and preferable our tow planes.  Reimbursement rates are fixed, and don't include any requirements for mowing lawns, washing planes, or joining the local club.

The last NEC said something about an MOA with the SSA.

I don't know the details....but I got the impression that if the glider program get's consolidated....local unit will just have to go to the SAA for their O-rides.  I think the deal is that CAP will pay a straight fee for each O-ride.  Don't know what the dollar figure is.

I would suggest that you contact national DO about the details.
