CAP Narrow band Transition

As of 2359 Hours, Wednesday 30 SEP 2009, usage of wide band channels is prohibited by any CAP personnel. There will be new Federal users on those frequencies. Use of those frequencies will be a MAJOR violation as per NHQ CAP.

That's interesting. There's a PowerPoint presentation on the NTC site from the Comm Manager's Meeting, 6 Sep 09, ant the NB, that gives a drop dead date of 31 Dec 09. Here in CAWG, I think we still have 3 or 4 repeaters that are still WB, so that date could be just NER.

Hmmm.  CAP-DC's latest information through the DC list and National Board Comm meeting was 31 December.  That's the date I'm briefing my folks.

NER is free to make the transition requirement early, however be aware that this varies by region & wing.

My wing's sundown for wideband is 31 Dec, though at this point only simplex is usable as all the repeaters are done.
