Title: CLC This Weekend
Post by: DogCollar on September 18, 2009, 10:40:48 AM
It is finally working out that I can take CLC this weekend!  Yeah!!  When I am done, I will have completed Level III.

The only thing in Level IV I have left to do is to serve on a conference staff and/or teach an approved course.  Hopefully, I can manage that sometime over the next 12 months.

Anyway, I am excited to finally finish Level III.  It seems like I have been stuck at CLC for a long time.

Excellent!  I think there are a lot of valuable training/networking opportunities to be had by completing the levels of the PD program.  Good on you for finishing up Level III.

Good luck at CLC this weekend.

Good luck and enjoy the class!

I actually DID enjoy the class!  It was small (only 8 students) which made for the development of collegiality and team work when we did the exercises in the curriculum.  The staff kept us on track, which allowed for us to finish on-time.  No one, neither staff or students, came with an "agenda" which leads to tangential ranting, which leads to going over the time alloted.

Of course, it was great being on Langley Air Force Base.  This was the third time I've been on the base in the last couple of years.  There was no problems getting through the gates (The Langley Composite Squadron obviously communicated well with the security folks), people were helpful with directions, and the chow hall had GREAT food.  Overall, I give it a 5 star review!!!

Glad you got to go!     It sounds like it was a great class.  Mine was HUGE - 45 students. I think it would have been better if it had been smaller.  I've found that the best thing about CAP PD courses is the networking.  I'm thinking about going to NSC (maybe next year) just for that.  I completed Level 5 with military equivalents but I think that I missed being able to work with folks from other parts of the country.

I hope to go to NSC someday myself.  I've heard very positive feedback from folks that have attended.  I hope you do get the chance to go next year.

Delighted to hear that you attended CLC and had a great experience.  I am always glad to read/see where Chaplains are progressing in the Senior Member Professional Development Program.  Not only are they improving their skills but are networking with current and future leaders in the organization.

My CLC completion appeared on e-Services this afternoon.  Less than 2 weeks after taking the course.  Pretty good for NHQ!!

NHQ is almost never the problem with paperwork delays.  It is almost always the Wing, or whoever the approving authority is.

The member services folks at NHQ are awesome, and no, they're not paying me to say that (as far as you know). :)
