Title: National tracking awards
Post by: brasda91 on August 30, 2009, 12:03:13 PM
Wouldn't it be nice if National would post your various certificates/ribbons in eServices?

We have our Dining Out in a month and I'm looking over the various awards/certificates to determine who is deserving of which award or certificate.  The problem is, I'm not sure who has what.  I don't want to present an award to a Senior that they may already have.  Example, does my Chaplain have his Red Service ribbon?  I can look in eServices easily enough.  But since it is not listed, I will have to go by hq and look through his file to see if he has a Form 2a for it.

That's a good argument for electronic record keeping. Keep a copy on a thumb drive, and you'll always have access.

SIMS can fix this issue for you as well.

It takes a while to get it fully functional and everything loaded in.  But once you get it up and running it will be an invaluable tool.

I've tried SIMS, but I just can't figure it out.  I guess it's in a program I don't understand.

I think we're obviously moving in the direction of full electronic tracking of such things.  We're slowly putting all the "important" stuff in eservices and eventually these will be also (I assume).
