QuotePrescription Safety Classes
I am flying with Uvex Horizon welding glasses (http://www.uvex.us/products.aspx#/product=598&folder=98) with clear prescription lenses in the frame and sunglass lenses in the flip-up.  I also have a second flip-up with clear lenses taped so I have flip-up foggles for instrument practice.  It's a great system.  (I bought for the flip-up feature, not the safety aspect, but it is one tough set of frames.)

Frames bought from http://www.acehardwareoutlet.com.

Lenses are from http://www.jemoptical.com

Jem is having a 20% off sale until the end of the month; I just got an email from them: "Save 20% on all orders placed until midnight Monday August 31st. Use coupon code CEL08512"  I have bought lenses for several frames from them and the prices and service have always been great.  Half or less what I would pay locally.

I have membership to the Oakley Government site, i was just wondering if anyone knew of a better / different place.

I saw a member of Des Moines Fire Department have a set of glasses that are prescription lenses inside of traditional safety glasses.  He indicated that I call the DMFD training officer to get the details.

Thanks All!!

ESS ICE and ICE NARO glasses

I got mine for $20 at the PX/BX. Prescription inserts can be purchased online. They have the same quality, toughness, and impact resistance as oakleys, but were mass produced for a contract with the Marine Corps, and thus are very cheap.
