Ok I recently bough a MOLLE vest for use as a paintball vest but have decided to use it for SAR as well. I want to know peoples opinions on MOLLE do you it why? if not why? what kind of pockets do you use how long have you had your vest and anything else you want to throw out there!
I had a MOLLE vest but sold it because it was too hot. Web gear is much cooler, far less expensive, and just as good for CAP needs.
That said, my current 24 hour kit is carried in a MOLLE assault pack with a MOLLE butt pack slung underneath and a pair of canteens attached to the side webbing. I'd love to take credit for this setup, but the truth is that I found it here:

I've gotten away from old-school web gear, but true "vest" type load carriers are, to me at least, very hot. I dislike having an "extra layer" if I can avoid it.
Recently, however, I picked up a "Ranger Rack"-style load carrier. I'm still figuring out where things go on it, but I like the fact that its not a "front & back" vest setup, but rather just basically a chest rig...
I have looked into chest rig setups but I always thought they might be to uneven. Let us know when you get it all worked out and tell us how you like it :o
I use both a MOLLE Camelbak HAWG (24) and a BFM (72). They serve their purpose well and I have used the webbing for a Camelbak bottle pouch, a Spec-Ops super sheath, and a flagging tape dispenser. I like the versitility of the PALS system for adding things that I want easy access to such as flagging tape, Mini-Maglite, and the all important bottle of gatorade. At the price the RACK system is going for I would say go ahead and give it a try. In my area we spend most the time in vans and dismount for short periods of time, so I have been considering the RACK for ease of getting in and out of vans. But all in all what works for you works for you.
I perfer the web gear.
so why do you like web gear go ahead and elaborate
