Title: Launch a personal satellite for $ 8000.
Post by: Eclipse on August 02, 2009, 07:06:43 PM
Now this is actually an AE project I could get behind.

While expensive, its well within the reach of most wings, and would be a great project that would get all hands involved including the fund raising people, Comm guys, AE folks, and of course the cadets.

There are a lot of evil things that I could do with a satellite.

It would appear these satellites are being launched into low earth orbit, and will re-enter and burn up after only a few weeks of being up. $8,000 is a lot of money for a few weeks of satellite operation. IIRC, the cost of putting a satellite into GEO is in the millions of dollars.

Depends how you use it.  I have plenty of evil that I could do.  That would make it worth the effort.

Some of those things may get you moved to GITMO!
