Title: Non-CAP SDIS use
Post by: Flying Pig on July 01, 2009, 06:06:34 PM
I am looking at incorporating SDIS into my airplane at work.  I have not had the CAP SDIS training. Does anyone have any experience with this outside of CAP?  We have Sat phones also.  I imagine it would work the same, but I see in the training program it talks about logging into WIMRS which my Dept obviously doesnt have. We have microwave downlink for video, but I would like to incorporate this as well.

All SDIS does is take a photo and email it somewhere.

Assuming you have the bandwidth, you can load it direct into WMIRS, but its not required for the system to work.

Rob: give me a telcon and I will give you the particulars of the guy in CAWG who handles SDIS.
