Title: IS-100
Post by: Daniel on June 28, 2009, 05:00:35 AM
Can anyone find how to enter this in to E-services for missouri wing. I completed in a few weeks ago and sent my squadron commander the Cert but it never got entered in. I read somewhere that squadron commanders couldn't enter IS-100 into the system, how can this be done?

It's the same as any other task that gets entered through E-Services. Your ES or Ops guy/gal should be able to do it, (your Sqaudron CC can too but it's ES/Ops job). Just give your certificate to whoever that person is at your unit and ask them to put it in e-services.

It is entered into the Ops Quals module of eServices.  The CAPF 101 card will list your ICS courses on it as well as your Ops Quals.   If you can print out a CAPF 101, then there is no reason that your Sqdn Cmdr or his designate can't update ICS 100 in the system.  There might be a problem if you are not GES qualified yet but I don't know that for a fact.

I am GES cert. I did it all in the same day.

It might be sitting waiting for approval too. Just send a reminder up your chain of command, and have them fix it.

I just looked at your CAPF 101 and it is not entered on the SQTR nor pending approval.

You can go to your Ops Quals, go to the SQTR Entry Tab, select "OPS-Emergency_Services" from the *Functional Area pull down menu, then select "IS100 - IS-100" from the *Achievement pull down menu.  This will bring up the ICS 100 SQTR.    Look below the big blue bar.  Click on "Check to Save" box, then enter the date you completed IS-100 in the "Completion Date" box, then click on the Submit button.

That puts it on your Sqdn Cmdr's list of Ops Quals to validate.  Since you have already sent him the certificate, there should be no problems getting it validated.  You might also find someone else goes ahead and validates it.

Sir, how could you look at my 101 card? I haven't given you my CAPSN do you not need it?

Normally members with "Operations Qualifications" restricted permissions aren't able to look up or enter information for individuals outside of their unit, group or wing but there are those who have permissions to look up just about anyone. So don't be surprised that Short Field or others can look you up if he has the necessary permissions. I'm guessing that IC's can look up anyone throughout the country. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

IC2 and IC1 can look up the ES Quals of any CAP Member.

Remember - when you put stuff on the internet, you leave LOTS of breadcrumbs back to your house.

Region-level officers who are assigned to region headquarters can look up contact information for any member within all wings assigned to that specific region. Those officers assigned to your wing headquarters can look up contact information for anyone in your wing. The same for group if your wing has groups. And it goes down from there according to the level of assignment.
IC's, on the other hand, do not have that permission. As "Phirons" mentioned certain IC's can look up ES qualifications for anyone but that doesn't include contact information.
A web security administrator (the officer who gives out permissions in e-services) can issue permissions for other members but that's not the point of discussion here.

IC-1's can run a report that has the contact information for all persons in a unit/wing/region with XXX qualifications.

IC2s & IC1s can read the CAPF 101 and SQTR information in eServices.   This is to let them work on a multi-state response and be able to validate qualifications and training.  I never rely on a person's CAPF 101 card any more and always validate it either through the IMU or eServices.

Call me cynical, but after dealing with CAP members in the past couple of years who had photoshopped CAPID cards to show higher rank, falsified DD FM 214s and other documents to reflect service as a commissioned officer instead of a airman, and "current" CAPF 101 cards that showed active Ops Quals that were suspended after the card was printed, I just don't trust paper that much.
