Title: Vanguard BDUs?
Post by: DC on June 26, 2009, 10:13:45 PM
Does anyone know what brand of BDUs Vanguard sells (http://www.vanguardmil.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6_440_441&products_id=13575)?

I need to get a new BDU blouse, and I'd prefer to order everything from one place than pay separate shipping for everything, but I will if I have to to avoid getting Rothco or a similarly cheesy brand.

Thanks!

My friend got Propper from them. Good quality stuff.

I'd recommend BDU.com.

I'd recommend BDU.com.
Any particular reason, other than avoiding Vanguard's service (or lack thereof)?

I've just had very good luck with them.

Good quality, prices, selection, and quick shipping.

Okay, I'll keep them in mind. Thanks.

From the looks of things, I wouldn't get a BDU cap from BDU.com.  USCav has the genuine article though... for a price.

Also, their Foul Weather Parka II, fleece and trou is a ripoff.  >:D

Because they look like the cheap knockoffs when compared to the real deal.

Well, unless you're speaking from personal experience, I have no idea why you think the pics online look like knockoffs, but that's the only place I buy my BDU's and I can assure you its all high-quality, mil-spec, Propper stuff.

Yeah I'll have to go ahead and agree with Bob here... BDU.com is the shizzle. They sell all Propper brand gear, and in every color and material available. Best prices on `net or anywhere else for that matter.

If you're not going to get something from your wing supply officer, this is your best bet. Like, for real. ;-)

From USCav (http://www.uscav.com/Productinfo.aspx?productID=5435&TabID=1&CatID=117):

If you want to order the "same" item from BDU.com (http://www.bdu.com/F550521394.html) you get this:

They only have woodland ones in cotton and poly/cotton twill and they each look like this:

Edit: The same caps from epropper.com (https://www.epropper.com/products/21/BDU%20Patrol%20Cap.htm)

I say spend on USCAV for the NYCO BDU cover. It is of very good quality, it keeps it's shape, the color doesn't fade easily(Have mine for 1.5 years and after many rain storms, gallons of sweat, it still looks fairly new.) and IMO, it doesn't cost an extreme amount. I can upload pictures of how it currently looks if you want.

Edit: AND you can choose what size you want other the small, medium, or large for better fit. My cap is 7 1/2. When I went to epropper, it just asked for medium or large.  How big are they?

And your point is?  One incorrect picture on a website doesn't exactly make your point.
If you've had a bad experience, don't shop there.  My experience has been good 100%.

They also have them in cotton ripstop (http://www.bdu.com/F550555320.html).

I've seen the product from BDU.com, it looks fine, the pattern is larger and darker than it appears to be in the images on the site.

The epropper site itself says that the caps are single-ply.  Whereas my issue cap is only single-ply on the top.

I pulled them from the ripstop section, so I just wrote cotton.

My bad, all I saw was poly/cotton twill...

The last set of BBDUs I ordered from Vanguard were Propper - but the pants were ripstop and the shirt was twill.

They sell both, are you sure you ordered both ripstop or both twill?

I see the difference noted in the camo BDUs, but not the BBDUs.  I ordered CAP1400 for pants and CAP1401 for the shirt, which both correspond to the winter weight in camo.

They are all different manufacturers but they are always good  quality that you can trust. When you order clothing from vanguard it always comes quickly but I ordered a parade rifle from them and they are backordering it till july thats 2 months after I ordered it. I also ordered it for a function that was two months ago and now its almost useless to me since I am now a flag bearer

Then cancel the order and get it elsewhere, probably in a couple of days.

I ordered BDUs and the Flight Suit from BDU.com and am 100% happy with quality, customer service and price!!

IMHO $159 for the Flight Suit beats all other online retailers.

I'm also waiting for several C/Maj insignia I ordered three weeks ago -_-

And rifles from Vanguard? Where online do you see those?

Next time, get them from paradestore.com, it'll take about 2-3 days shipping and processing is only 1-2 days, and communication is excellent
