As of today, I am retired from the Oklahoma Army National Guard. It feels weird.
What's your military background? Where did you start out? MOS's?
Congrats.

I hold 11B ad 35F MOS's. Went straight Guard while in high school. Knee surgery slowed down the Infantry stuff so I went MI.
Sir,
Thank you for your service. I mean that sincerely.
11B and 35F, dude, you're my hero.
Well hey, with all that extra free time we've stuff for you do at Wing. ;D
Congratulations and thank you for your service to our country.
When I received my "20" years letter, it was like having a weight lifted offmy shoulders. When I actually retired it was even better.
Congraulations.
HOOOAAHHH
Congrats on making it. Now, will you live long enough to collect a check?
(Guard and Reserve Retirees do not start getting their retirement checks until they turn 60.
You can "retire" earlier then that, but you don't get the money until you're 60.)
Congratulations!!!! I retired from the Army Reserve in 1987, started drawing my checks in 1996 and have enjoyed it ever since. You will miss your military service, trust me.
Thanks for your service.
Thank you for protecting my freedom's, enjoy a much deserved break. I'll start picking up the tab when you "come of age"

Thank you for your service too. Not enough people do an enlistment let alone a career.

I just sobered up and realized living in the field ALL the time was not what I wanted to do.

I plan on mostly life at squadron for awhile. Besides, I help run PT while our CO is at Wing meetings.

Not too worried about that. I am just glad to have it when I get older.

You still have 22 years before that happens thankfully.
I tried to get Citizen Soldier to stay on but he kept up about family and having to do other things on the weekend. ;D
I'm actually not overly excited about AT this year myself. I've been traveling some with my civilian job to make up training I missed due to all the deployed time and I would prefer to stay home.
I'm right at the 15 year mark. I would like to see the retirement (drawing) age come down some more too. fingers crossed 8)

Welcome to the brotherhood of the Blue ID Card! ;D

I hear ya on this year's AT Sir. It looks like they plan on swinging the stupid stick at full speed. I figure I will see you at some wing activities. Be glad when you get to join us on the other side.
