Title: How to Document a Find?
Post by: ande.boyer on June 16, 2009, 06:45:16 PM
Does anyone know the proper way to document credit for a Find?

I'm curious because I got my first one last week (after 9+ years in CAP :-/  I've sent up the 2a for my find ribbon but am wondering what records are kept for Finds that you don't get a ribbon for...ie the additional 9 non-distress finds I need for my first clasp.

Thanks!

Find credit is part of the record of a mission, and who gets credit for a find is at the subjective determination of the incident commander.

some award a find to everyone who participated, some only to the team that made the actual find.

It unfortunately can take weeks to months for the paperwork to flow around the channels for ribbons to be approved.

BTW...it's 20 more non-distress for a clasp, or every distress find.
