Title: NY Wing CG Competition
Post by: fireplug on April 22, 2009, 06:42:45 PM
Pylon,

I see on the NHQ web site that your Squadron reperesented the CNY Group in the Wing competition. Congratulations!
WIWAC back in 1955, Syracuse Cadet Sq 1 marched in the competition, and was (supposedly) the first time any upstate unit was involved. In those days the drill team had 33 members plus leader. Glad to see that spirit again.

They did good.  They were the first team from Central NY to compete since 2003.

Thanks!  Our cadets learned a lot by going to Wing Competition.  Our objective was to compete, but while observing and learning all we could this year, so we can better prepare for future years.   There were several very good teams there to learn from, and they were all very helpful, encouraging and supportive.  That alone meant a lot to us.

On a side note, I never knew cadet competition was so expensive!   :o

NYCG won the CG competition though. (GO NYCG!) Pylon, my squadron (NY-384,BTCS1) needs to train a color guard for Brooklyn Tech HS' graduation, in which two of our members are graduating. Who should I speak to about receiving CG training? My best guess would be Maj. Brice, if you have any idea I'd appreciate it, thanks
