The Alabama State Defense Force is getting into the youth development field and has started their own cadet corps http://www.sgaus.org/StatesAL%20CadaetCorps.htm
For grades 7-12 with the goal of funnelling graduates into the ASDF.
We have that out here in California too, but their "target audience" is different then ours.
They target "at risk youth" while we don't.
It's all a part of the national Guard Bureau "Guard Challenge" program.
And this is not to say that we don't get "at risk youth" in our program, we just don't target our recruiting efforts on them.
No this is not the NG Youth Challenge program. Thats something different.
I'm curious how many CAP members are also members of SDF.
