Title: Places to go in Virginia Beach
Post by: pixelwonk on March 27, 2009, 05:09:23 PM
I recall that some of our CAP Talk members are in or from Virginia Beach.
My wife and I will be there tomorrow through Tuesday.
While I've got a pretty full itinerary for area attractions, I was wondering what are the good Virginia Beach/Norfolk places to grab chow that you just can't get anywhere else.

Not exactly a local place, but there is a Cheesecake Factory at 265 Central Park Ave in VA Beach.  Those are always good.

When my wife and I lived down there, there was/is a good mom & pop italian/pizza place called Anna's just outside the West Gate of Langley AFB.  Although, that is in Hampton and might not warrant 'vacation gotta eat here' status.

I grew up in Va Beach and visit with my family a few times a year.  Here's where we go:

Surf Rider - a few locations around the beach - good local seafood
Bubba's on Shore drive - local seafood place on the marina
Rt 58 Deli - NY/NJ style deli near the beach??  Good stuff - lots of it - F/A 18s roaring overhead
The Imperial Palace - Great Chinese about 25 minutes from the oceanfront - my parents favorite

...avoid the seafood all you can eats in the back of the tourist magazines...
