Title: SARView software and MS Vista
Post by: jcook_wicap on March 12, 2009, 02:55:31 AM
Hello

Does anyone know if the SARView program works in MS Vista? If so does it work in both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Vista?

Thanks

Most likely if it works in XP it will work in Vista.  Who makes the software?

I'm not sure who makes it. The program has been around a while and I think it is out of production. We have it in my squadron but it is running on XP. My next laptop will likely be a Vista system so I'm trying to see if anyone has SARView running there. Vista is a bit different - I don't think we can assume it will workon Vista if it works on XP - that would be too easy.

The program was written in the Windows 95/98 era by Lance Robinson, a [former?] CAP member. His website is still up at  http://www.airwaystech.com/

He also had a version called Radar ViewPoint which was the primary NTAP program used prior to Guy Loughridge's TacticalResourceMapping.

SAR ViewPoint runs fine on my XP Pro machine. AFRCC still uses it so you might ask them what platform they're using.
