Alright, you PCR CAPTalkers... Texas Wing is about to invade the PCR! I'll be attending the 2009 Pacific Region Staff College at Nellis from 28 March until 3 April. So if you're attending as a student or as an instructor don't forget to say hi!
And yes, I'm taking a few days extra after RSC to lose my shirt in Vegas. I've actually got family out here, so casinos are the farthest from my mind. Well, maybe a slot or video poker machine... ;D
Give us a reminder before you leave for Nellis. Who can plan this far out.... ;D

When you can get relatively cheap fares to Sin City from DAL - plus I had an unused $75 travel voucher from a trip last year. Grab da bull by the horns... ;D
Last year they had the Nevada Wing DRE scheduled the same week as the PCRSC at Nellis. It created a few conflicts....
Who put the bump in the bump-de-bum-de-bump...? :)
A week to go before PCRSC in Lost Wages... if you're staff or a student, see you there!

I went last year, had a great time. My wife will be there this year. She's the young pretty one ;D
Well I will see you there.....
Jimmydeano...how did you end up with a pretty wife....oh she has a vision problem ;D

As with many women - just very poor taste in men.... ;) (Thank God for that Flaw!!!!!)
Whatever she was thinking, I'm just glad she had a huge lapse in judgment! :D
;D
See ya on Saturday Chuck!
OK I'm here in wonderful Nellis AFB... now where are the rest of the CAPTalkers attending or staffing PCRSC? I'm in Seminar 'Warrior 4' ;D
I'm in 5 Chuck. I've seen you walking around but haven't gotten a chance to think about what I am going to say. Remember, I am Introspective..... >:D
Since we are on the subject, does anyone want a daily update or anything? Loads of fun going on here...
I will tell you this. A member of my seminar asked another member if she would be so kind as to iron his uniform shirts..... I don't care who you are, that's insulting but hilarious >:D

YGBSM! If she didn't already beat him with a 2X4... ;D
Warrior 4 is a pretty good group; all of us pretty much clicked as a team from the start... Chow hall - ahem, dining facility - got good food cheap; loaded up my breakfast plate for less than $3. Food court at BX varied and decent chow. Booger King and Popeye's on separate building next to BX. Warrior Inn billeting not bad but occasionally runs outta hot water.
For the rest of the CAPTalkers, touring Red Flag and Thunderchickens tomorrow...

Dadgummit... she was sitting in the row in front of me during the classroom sessions. How rude of me not to properly introduce myself! ;D Well, there's always tomorrow!
She's in my seminar. We are both trying hard not to strangle the two *insert inspirational word here*'s in our group.
My squadron went to the New England Air Museum yesterday for the space expo they had (BTW, it was super awesome and one of the best times I've had at an activity in a long time), so this is the first I saw this.
I got 'the phone call' from her about said senior member regarding her ironing his uniforms. Interesting discussion ;D
She has a tattoo on her left calve. Apparently, yesterday one of the seminar advisors asked her if she had some sort of concealer to cover it with. Not sure why, it's a friendly looking monkey holding a heart (about the size of a silver dollar)...someone must not have the memo that she doesn't have to cover it up...
I remember last year that there were a few people that were patience testers, sounds like there are a few again. Good times though - have fun at the Thunderbirds & Red Flag.

AFI 36-2903 prohibits tattoos visible on the uniform. Those who have visible tattoos (for example on short-sleeve shirts) who want to enlist have to remove them at their own expense.
The current CAPM 39-1 mentions nothing about it. If it's already on the radar screen with the PCRSC staff I can almost guarantee before long an SNCO or officer on Ma Blue's side here on Nellis might call her attention to it. (I do agree, the tat's cute!) Problem may be solved by wearing slacks or by using concealing makeup. (A band-aid might call unnecessary attention, though, as in 'what happened to you?')
I hope she does get to use the 2X4 on the guy... We'll back her up! >:D ;D
Not to turn this into a uniform discussion, but she is allowed to have it showing all she wants. Here are the appropriate reg quotes, including 39-1.
As a current USAF enlisted member [NCO] and ROTC cadet set to commission shortly, she is well aware of the prohibitions of tattoos and has already been vetted, several times. Nobody on the AF side is going to say anything because she is well within the tattoo regulations. BTW, I think it's 'cute' too.
It just somebody correcting someone on something that they haven't fully investigated.
Last year some guy tried to 'chew me out' because my CAP tie-tac is the one that looks like my grade insignia. He accused me of impersonating an AF officer, etc. Just a matter of pointing him to the 39-1 caused an 'open mouth insert foot' moment.

Excessive is defined as any tattoo/ brands that exceed 1/4 of the exposed body part and those above the collarbone and readily visible when wearing an open collar uniform. Members should not be allowed to display excessive tattoos that would detract from an appropriate professional image while in uniform.
QuoteTattoos/brands anywhere on the body that are obscene or advocate sexual, racial, ethnic, or religious discrimination are prohibited in and out of uniform. Tattoos/brands that are prejudicial to good order and discipline or
that are of a nature that tends to bring discredit upon the Air Force are prohibited in and out of uniform. Tattoos that are commonly associated with gang affiliations are prohibited both in and out of uniform. I stand corrected... That's what I get for not reading the regs too closely. Ya see 'no tats' and people will freak out. Now that I re-read the paragraph in question I do not have a problem at all with it. (Ducking the proverbial 2X4! ;D)
BTW, early congrats on the butter bars! Now off to the chow hall...
So, my wife called me to tell me what her Myers-Briggs personality type is. ISTP she is. Apparently, that means that she'll let me do stupid things and then respond with, "I told you so." A lot of our wives must be ISTPs... :D

OK, boss... ;D
Toured the famous Nellis AFB 'Petting Zoo', aka the Threat Training Center yesterday. Lots of captured Russian and Chinese equipment for all to look over, photograph, climb on and handle. Unfortunately we had only one hour allotted to the tour so it was rushed. There are also several static displays outside the Petting Zoo - a MiG-29 (with non-descript markings but with a fin flash and trim that gave away its origin - it was one of the former East German, and later Luftwaffe MiG-29s. There's a MiG-21 that was once used by the formerly highly classified 4477th Test and Eval Squadron 'Red Hats' and a few others such as a former Iraqi Su-7 Fitter and a T-72 tank eating a Maverick missile.
Got to meet the famous - or is it infamous? - Lt Col Ned Lee, who made an outstanding presentation on cadet program trends. Other famous CAP personalities presenting at RSC were Lt Col Don Harrington, Col Gary Mayo and Lt Col Johnnie Cain. We're getting ready to finish up our graduation project for presentation to the school Friday.

I remember many of those names from last year when I attended. I also remember Col Chavez who was one of my personal favorites as he was very approachable. You'll have a great time during the presentations; some of those are quite imaginative. A fun time!
Met Col Chavez today - he gave us the briefing on CAP legal trends. Real nice guy; called on everyone as 'counselor' just like a courtroom.
Col Chavez and Col Lee were two of the high points of last years PCRSC.
Lots of "Dang it, I wish I had known that years ago!" information.
Survived PCRSC 2009 - graduated yesterday! Now to enjoy a couple of days in Sin City with family before heading back to Dallas.
Jimmydeanno - give my regards to your wife.
Will do, fortunately you did have to send 'regrets' ;D
