Title: IS-200/700
Post by: Flying Pig on December 31, 2008, 03:32:04 AM
Yes!  Done.  With not a moment to spare!  I enjoy the challenge of doing it in the 11th hour.  Simulates the stress of combat! >:D

[darn] lieutenants, always waiting till the last minute.

My [former] police department required all officers to have 100, 200, 700 and 800 completed by 31 May 07.  Time for Fresno to catch up with the east coast.

We had to only do 100 unless you are in supervisory position.

Just finished the 200, nothing like waiting until the last minute.

I've done the 300 and actually that one is better in the classroom.  Remember a far number of those who have to take it, are in a position wher you would be interacting with  people from ther oranizations and most 300's you'd be taking with people from these organizations.  It was intersting working with these people.

Which is why 300/400 are in a classroom setting.  IIRC, the on-line courses only make you "aware" of the subject matter while the classroom courses provide a least a small degree of "learning".

I would conjur with that.  While I "learned" the material before when we did a  200 review and I felt I actually learned it better  there.

I did 700 recently and am in the middle of 800 right now(hope to finish today) and I find them a complete waste of time and energy.  Print out the exam and then wade through the text to find the correct answers.  Learn anything???  I don't think so, but I am satisfying the letter of the law.

I will do 300 in class in early Feb: the best that CAWG can do right now. I guess that there was a 300 class in Socal, but that is too far for me: 400 miles away.   I hope that ends the nonsense of NIMS.
