Looks like a novel idea but has anyone had any experience with these folks?
No pictures and the website is very limited. A few mistakes as it looked like someone rushed to put a website out there.
Actually, I think the basis for the program isn't a bad idea. A lot more focused on a specific type of service than CAP, but I picture a lot of folks with CB radios in their pick-up trucks and a lot of Radio Shacks having to shut down as their employees "deploy" for missions.
Don't mean to sound negative, but that's my impression. And again, I think the program is a good idea, but I wouldn't think their "cadet program" is a good idea. I'd stick with an all-adult program.
This group has been extensively discussed on forums frequented by members of State Defense Forces and is universally regarded as a bunch of posers who do everything they can to seem like a legitimate government agency. Run, run, run away!

What jilted CAP member started this outfit?
;D
(Sorry, just had to ask)
Actually, if I recall correctly it was a group of people kicked out of the Tennessee State Guard (a legitimate State Defense Force). The same basic group of people have been responsible for several different organizations of this type.
I think a few of those ribbons look like CAP ribbons.....
Their Community Service ribbon looks a lot like our Leadership Ribbon and the Professional Development ribbon looks like a slightly different version of the Arnold Ribbon.
Tarkin has headed up a few other associations such as the Long Island Association of Crime Prevention Officers and the Jericho Auxillary Police. RiverAux has it right. Run Forest, run....

Jilted, just from somewhere else. Another group of wannabes who want to be generals. Sounds like kids playing Army, if you ask me. Sad, because those guys make legit civilian uniformed-volunteer organizations (like CAP) look terrible.
Let's see HQ in NY.. that does it for me.... Never trust anyone from New York.
Hopefully they are never seen in public.
Just another "He whose name we shall not mention" 7 star wannabee!

...you're from New York... >:D
I'm not sure I would feel comfortable sending my SSN and other personal information to this organization. There's not even a phone number on that site. And it's being run out of a P.O. box. Yikes!
The group I'm starting, The International Disaster Ranger Corp is different than these wannabe. Our uniform is a blue smerf suit. Our grade structure is also different than CAP or other groups in that everyone is a B\Gen to Gen. (not going to mess with 2Lt to Col). To join send your name, credit card number and a check for $50 made out to Stonewall.
Stars for $50 bucks? Sign me up. Do I have to give you my SSN, or can I use someone else's? Also, is it $50 per star? >:D
I'm starting a group, also, since BillB did. I think I can launch the nation's premier emergency-services organization -- the United States Ranger Beret Hawk Brigade Army Flying Unified Corps of Brigades and Squadrons, otherwise known as the USRBHBAFUC of BS, or USBS or just plain BS for short.
Ranger Corps? HA!
Disaster Relief Command? HA, HA!
International Disaster Ranger Corps? HA, HA, HA!
None of them will be as well-dressed, or look as capable.
We'll all wear uniforms, learn to march, tell people they can't wear beards, and play in the woods like we're doing something noble and worthy. Just give me $40 a year, buy all your own uniforms and bling, and grade will be issued based on donations.
There will be no NCOs. Everyone will be an officer, so no one feels left out. $10 extra a year and you'll be a second lieutenant. Here's the rest:
1st Lt: $20
Capt: $35
Maj: $50
Lt Col: $75
Col: $100
Brig Gen: $120
Maj Gen: $125
Lt Gen: Appointed by the Chief Grand Hoo-hah Most Worthy National Commander In Chief.
Gen: The Chief Grand Hoo-hah Most Worthy National Commander In Chief, a life position reserved for the founder (me).
Because our uniforms won't be military uniforms per se, we'll be within the law, albeit barely. We'll all wear white shirts with epaulets, black pants, bow ties, funny epaulets with tassels hanging off the shoulders, and be mistaken for bellhops.
Interested? Tired of feeling beaten down by the man? Call today: 1-800-BSB-SBS1.
Or you could just stay in CAP, like I will, and do something much more meaningful.

You had me until this line...
I'm disappointed in you now.... I so wanted to join.. I had my $125 and was about to call the 800 number...
There is a typo in Buckeyes post the number to call is not an 800 number, it's a 900 number
