The item "Liner for ECWCS Polar Fleece Jacket" is this authorized as a liner? I find it odd to wear a black fleece jacket under a camo field jacket.

The black fleece is (was?) the standard issue liner for the gortex parka.

I'm actually not sure what the regulation says in the Air Force, but it wasn't too uncommon to see people wearing the black fleece in their BDUs.  I'm quite certain that isn't authorized (common sense talking here), but I've also learned that following the regs in the Air Force as it relates to uniforms isn't so common.

I was issued one and never wore it.  It was too bulky for me to wear my gore-tex jacket with.  I ended up giving it to someone in CAP.
