Thought about putting those down, but they're more "Army" than patriotic. Love'em both though.
This will probably cause debate, but
"Bodies" Drowning Pool
Why? I envision lots of dead AK47 waving Haji's when I hear it.
Just a Dream Carrie Underwood. It's about the sacrifices all families have to make.
"The Star-Spangled Banner" - Whitney Houston 1991 (best recorded version of the song IMHO)
"Flight of the Valkries" kind of hit home with me during the Air Calvary charge in Appocolypse Now.
"United" by Judas Priest is also kind of cool.
Check youtube for thes 2 1980s recruiting videos set to music. Enter search for We were there Army and My Hometown Freedom isn't free. They got a lot of play around the time I got commissioned and sent overseas.
There's Star Spangled Banner Waving Somewhere - Elton Britt
How did I know that someone was going to bring up that "CAP is on the Go" song again??? I'm still having nightmares from the first go around...

Actually, this song is about a woman killing her abusive husband. (I thought the same until my dear wife pointed this out - I made sure I bought her flowers) ;D

I used to play "Another One Bites The Dust" by Queen in my Walkman in the helo to get me up for air assaults. Not necessarily patriotic, but it sure gets one's blood flowing.
Gunner
There's a song by a singer/songwriter I really like named John Gorka. He wrote a song called "Writing in the Margins," about a soldier in Iraq writing home and taking up every space on the page he can get words on.
"The CAP is Always on the Go!" is our anthem and a song which doesn't hold up. It's just an awful and arcane piece but a showstopper at CAP event as a skit program filler. I've built a 5 minute performance from it.
Some tune-smith amongst us... should work on a new anthem. I would, but frankly could do no better. Laughability rating is not a good metric for an anthem.
Tailiban Song- Toby keith
Traveling Soldier-Dixie Chicks
Letters From Home- Jason Michael Montgomery
Where the stars and stripes and eagles fly- Aaron Tippon
Arlington-Trace Adkins
Stand Our Ground-Corey Smith

Change the lyrics to:Let the Haji's hit the floor

Sigh... :( I thought we were talking about patriotic songs.
Since when did patriotism come to equal racism and killing?
'Proud to be an American" is a good patriotic song...
Pride- Saliva
"Semper Fidelis" John Phillip Sousa (1898)
"Ballad of the Green Beret" SSgt Barry Sadler
"What About Me?" Quicksilver Messenger Service
"Monster" Steppenwolf
Quote"Monster" Steppenwolf
Now there's an interesting choice...
Thomas Jefferson said
"Dissent is the highest form of patriotism."
Both songs fit the bill
Stars & Stripes Forever
John Philip Sousa
