Kinda creepy!
And his squadron commander worked for the CIA...
He was with LAWG 16067 the Eastbank Composite Squadron
So... do you think there are MORE pics out there? Could be something the NHQ historian would be interested in...

The only two I've ever seen are the one above and the infamous camping photo.

Yeah, hopefully to get the originals and destroy them.
I agree with DogCollar, this whole thing
is creepy, and not something we as an organization want to be known for.
It would be right up there with "Hannibal Lecter Composite Squadron.."
No thanks.

Actually Oswald's membership is one of the worst kept secrets of CAP. Anyone who's been in for a few years already knows about his being a cadet and the Wing Commander Col, (later BG) Byrd owning the Texas Book Depository.
No we should not destroy the originals! They should be preserved like any other material of historical significance. History is history and we must preserve it bad or good. If we only kept things that reflect well on us, in one or two generations we would forget things like slavery, the Holocaust, the internment of the Japanese, etc. Two of these don't reflect well on the US but they are just as much a part of our history as the Marshall Plan, the Berlin Airlift, or anything else that we are proud of in our past. Just because these items don't reflect a positive image of CAP is no reason to destroy them. In fact, it is the very reason we should not destroy them.
I will now climb down off my historians high horse.
Gotta hand it to olefido
CAP like any other organization has its skeletons and history of organizations will continue.
To think we are a "pure " organization is bunk. So I would suggest to those born after 1963/1964 look deeply into the characters and history. To refute history is like that little guy we are having trouble w/ in Iran
Does anyone really look at these photos and think that CAP has anything to be ashamed of?
I agree. We (CAP) should be as ashamed as the USMC that taught Oswald how to shoot.
What did we teach him that was bad? I see no reason for us to feel in any way responsible or ashamed.
^Exactly, CAP has nothing to do with who Oswald ended up being. Depending on which theory you go with ;D
Hmmmm....I see a possible Character Development session in this somewhere.

First there was Incident Stress Management, and now this?!
It's Chaplains Gone Wild! heh
If it's on eBay, the National Archives were on it before this thred even started...
<checks eBay.com>
Whoops, didn't know it was part of a lot starting at $50,000.00! That's just a little more than their budget allows.
