Title: IT Officer Specialty Track Question
Post by: NC Hokie on September 24, 2008, 08:45:50 PM
One of the activities authorized for advancement in the the IT Officer specialty track is to "regularly participate in the National IT Program Discussion Forums."  Unfortunately, these forums are dead, and have been for quite some time. :'(  Are there any other forums available for CAP IT types to fulfill this requirement?

Unfortunately, these forums are dead, and have been for quite some time.

The successor to the original is still found at http://cap-it.us
Specifically: http://cap-it.us/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,19 ...A SMF integration with Joomla

It's sparsely used, but not entirely dead.  I doubt that the regular participation part is regularly enforced.  IMO, CAP IT is too niche of a market to really expect a bustling forum.

That's a nice looking site and all but that's the one that I mentioned as being dead.  Most of the posts there are of the "Hi, I'm here!" variety.  I guess that I was envisioning something more substantial.

Check back in... there's a push to revitalize the site.

Sort of like the Comm requirment to particpate in the comm net.

If there is no net...then you particpated by waiting for someone to run the thing.

Same thing with the forum.

If you check it monthly and dropped the "I'm here post" then you have particpated.  You can't help it if the moderators at NHQ are not doing their job.
